How to create an Index in MS Word
  1. On the File menu, click Open to open a new document.
  2. Type your text in the document.
  3. Select the required word.
  4. Click Insert >Reference >Index and Tables.
  5. Click Mark Entry, the selected word automatically gets populated in the Mark Entry field.
  6. Click Mark.
  7. Follow steps 2 to 5 for the words you want to index.
  8. Navigate to the page where you need to include the index.
  9. Click Insert >Reference >Index and Tables.
  10. Click OK.

How to Format Text in MS Word

  1. On the File menu, click Open to open a new document.
  2. Type your text in the document.
  3. On the Format menu, click Styles and Formatting.
  4. The Styles and Formatting task pane opens.
  5. Select the text you want to format. The Styles and Formatting pane highlights the default formatting style.
  6. Right click on the highlighted style and click Modify Style. The Modify Style window appears.
  7. Name your style and choose style type from the drop-down menu.
  8. Choose the font type, size and make it bold or italics if you want.
  9. Click OK 

How to insert the page number in MS Word

  1. On the File menu, click Open to open a new document.
  2. On the Insert menu, click Page Numbers. The Page Numbers window appears.
  3. Choose the options from the drop down list.
  4. Click OK.

How to apply Headers and Footers in MS Word

  1. On the File menu, click Open to open a new document.
  2. On the View menu, click Headers and Footers.
  3. The Header and Footer appear at the top and bottom of the document.
  4. Type your text in the Header and Footer area
